We're Back Baby! Well... We Will Be Soon

Hi everyone!

it's been quite a while since I have written out a blog post for y'all. It's been quite a year already and I have had to do some serious soul searching. You know, young twenty something type shit. I have had this business in some form or another for nearly 9 years. Isn't that wild? For those who don't know, I started making and selling jewelry when I was only 16 years old, and have had some form of this going on ever since. I have learned so much in that time, I mean I quite literally grew up. I went to art school, moved across the country, made an entirely new life for myself. But the one constant has been my art business.

At the beginning of 2020 I wanted to lay a solid foundation, I wanted to thrive, I wanted to boost my business to the next level....And then COVID-19 happened and I think we can all agree that 2020 is a year that we would all like to write off and forget about. I did a lot of foundational growth on myself as a person, spiritually, emotionally, physically in 2020, so it wasn't an entire waste. But when it comes to business, I was just kind of surviving and praying I would make it through to when the collective waves stopped crashing so hard, and I could find the ground again.

I started really building Left Handed MFG as an in person events kind of business. Craft fairs and artist markets every weekend, really hustling and making it work. It was awesome for a while, but then a big burn out happened and then the world shut down and I was forced to do everything online. It was a great opportunity because If Im being honest, selling solely online was my goal from the start anyway and now I was being forced to make it work. And it did work for a while, but as a lot of us know, the world of social media marketing and really just marketing in general is really hard, especially when you know absolutely nothing about it. I went to school to be an artist, which I can confidently say I can do pretty well, but the school I went to didn't focus on how to sell the art, so I graduated and started a business and have really been figuring it out along the way.

So that leads us to where we are right now. I decided that I needed to level up my business and in order to do that I had to take a break from the front facing component of the business and focus on the foundation, like I wanted to last year, but you know we just wont talk about it. I took an entire month off from posting on social media and sending out emails to y'all and spent the month studying as much as I could about what it really means to have a business. I had to come up with all kinds of plans for marketing and project managing. It was a lot of work, but truly I feel like Im on a whole new level with this business and I am so excited to share what we have been cooking up.

While I was learning all about the business components and implementing them, I was also building a whole collection that I'm so excited to announce will be released May 1st. I am so excited to show y'all the new pieces in the upcoming weeks.

I have been working hard on this transformation and I really feel like y'all are going to love it. I will be incorporating more paintings and drawing, new ceramic work, and of course new jewelry pieces. This balancing of my passions feels so good in my soul and I know you are going to love them.

Be on the look out for some sneak peaks via emails in the next couple of weeks.

That's all for now, just a little update on where we have been and what we have been doing. I hope you all have a wonderful day and can find it in yourself to see the beauty in the little things of life today.
